Sensor Overview Video Transcript
This overview gives a short introduction of the Waved Sensor and some details about its key features.
The Waved Sensor comes attached to a bracket made for mounting the sensor to flat surfaces, the Bracket and its functionalities will be covered in a different video.
On the front face of the sensor there is a microphone and a State Indicator. The State Indicator will light up, or flash in different colours to let the user know the state of the Sensor.
At the top of the sensor there are two buttons. The left button is the Power Button, which is used to turn the sensor on or off. The right button is the Action Button, which is used to control the sensor or check its state, when using the action button the State indicator will let the user know what action was performed.
Between the two buttons there is a socket for a 5V jack, which is used for charging and power supply.
On the back of the sensor, there is a Power Pin-Header also used for charging and power supply. The Power Pin-Header should only be used together with Waved's proprietary power supplies such as Waved Battery Pack and Waved Trackmount. This is covered in a different video.
The sensor has an internal battery to keep it operational even in the event of a power failure or if it is connected to a circuit that is turned off periodically. When connected to either the 5V Jack Input or the Power Pin-Header the internal battery will charge.

This video delves into the two buttons on Waved Sensor and how to use them.
When the sensor is oriented as shown, with the Waved Logo facing the user. The Power Button is located on the top left and the Action Button is located on the top right.
This sensor is currently off and by pressing the power button it will turn on, at which point the State Indicator will flash orange or blue to confirm that it is now turned on.
To turn it off, simply press the Power Button again.
There are three actions that can be performed by using the Action Button.
A single press will check the sensor configuration and network state.
A double click will prompt the sensor to connect to an open Zigbee network.
A long press of more than 5 seconds will change the sensor configuration.
These three sensors have different configurations and network state
When the Action Button is pressed once the State Indicator will flash in two different colours.
The first flash is either orange or blue, orange indicates that the sensor is configured as an end device and blue indicates that the sensor is configured as a router.
The second flash will indicate its Zigbee network state.
If the second flash is Green it indicates that it is currently connected to a Zigbee network.
If the second flash is Red it indicates that it is paired to a Zigbee network but able to connect to the Zigbee network.
If the second flash is Yellow it indicates that it has never been paired to a Zigbee network before and is ready to connect to a new Zigbee network.
So in summary, the first sensor flashes orange followed by a green light indicating that it is an end device, currently connected to a Zigbee network.
The second sensor flashed blue followed by a red flash meaning that it is a router which is paired to a Zigbee network, but currently not connected.
This last sensor, flashes orange followed by a yellow light, which indicates that it is configured as an end device and is not paired to a Zigbee network yet.
These two sensors are both end devices, the one to the left has not been paired to a Zigbee network, and the one to the right is already paired to a Zigbee network.
By double clicking on the Action Button the sensor will attempt to connect to an open Zigbee network. This is indicated by the State Indicator blinking yellow.
If the Sensor is already paired to a Zigbee network the State Indicator will blink white and the sensor will optimise its position in the meshed Zigbee network, for example by connecting to the closest router making the network more robust and stable.
Its possible to reconfigure a sensor from an end device to a router and back again.
This sensor is currently configured as an end device, a long press on the Action Button will change the configuration of the sensor. If the sensor is currently configured as an end device, the sensor will reconfigure to a Router indicated by an orange light followed by a blue light. If the sensor is currently configured as a router, the sensor will reconfigure to an end device, this is indicated by a blue light followed by an orange light.

This video covers how to use Waved Sensor along with devices such as Waved Bracket, Waved Trackmount and Waved Battery Pack.
The sensor connects to other devices through snap handles. By pressing the sensor firmly down it will snap in place. These snapp handles may be found on the Bracket, The Battery- Pack and the Trackmount.
Waved Bracket can be mounted to walls or ceilings using the 3M tape on the back or by using screws. Always make sure that the Bracket is mounted safely and is of now risk of walling off its surface.
Once the Bracket is securely mounted on a surface simply press the sensor into place.
Please note that when the sensor is connected directly to Waved Bracket it should be powered through the 5V Jack - and configured as a router.
Waved Sensor can also be attached to a Battery Pack. When connecting the sensor to Waved Battery Pack please make sure that the pins on Waved Sensor are aligned and fits into the Pin Header Socket on Waved Battery Pack.
Before connecting Waved Sensor to a battery pack, make sure it is on. Then press the action button. Press the sensor firmly down so that it snaps into place.
If the action button was pressed, it will confirm the connection by a purple flash from the State indicator.
Now that the sensor is connected to the battery pack you can mount the battery pack directly to a Waved Bracket just like the sensor. simply align the back of the battery pack with the snap handles on the bracket and press it in place.
Waved Trackmount provides the easiest way to mount Waved Sensor and often provides ideal locations for capturing as much human made noise as possible.
Before mounting the Trackmount to its track, make sure that you are mounting it in the right direction. On the side of the Trackmount there is an elevated line that fits into its counterpart in the track. If the Trackmount is mounted facing the wrong way, it will not work.
Once the direction is correct, simply press the Trackmount into its track then lock it in place by turning the lock on the back to the right.
When the Trackmount is in place, turn the channel selection wheel until you see the green power indicator light up.
When the power indicator is green you can proceed with connecting the sensor.
This follows a similar procedure as with the battery pack. Align the pins on the sensor with the pin-header on the Tackmount, turn the sensor on and press the action button.
To attach the sensor, simply press it firmly against the Trackmount, so that it snaps in place. If the Action Button was pressed, the sensor will confirm the connection by a purple flash.

๐๏ธ Waved Sensor Setup
This video describes how to set up Waved sensors in the Waved application, how to configure them correctly as either routers or end devices, and how to link them with their respective physical zones. This video assumes prior knowledge of how to use both the power and the action button of the Waved sensor.
The first step when setting up a sensor is to navigate to the sensor tab in the installation view. If no sensors have been set up, the Zigbee network can be opened directly from the โopen networkโ button in the sensors section. Otherwise, the network can be opened from the hidden menu which appears when pressing the โmoreโ button. Press the โopen networkโ button and confirm by pressing once more. Once the network has been opened it will stay open for 4 minutes, and then close automatically. As long as the network is open, sensors can connect to the network.
After opening the network, switch on the sensor which should be connected. Make sure that the sensor is configured correctly as either a router or an end device. It should be configured as a router if it has a continuous power supply, such as cabled power or a Waved Trackmount. Keep in mind that only routers can extend the sensor mesh network. If the sensor will be powered by a battery pack, it should be configured as an end device.
Once the sensor is configured correctly, double tap the action button to connect it to the network. Upon connecting, the sensor should appear in the sensor list in the application. Verify that the correct configuration is reflected in the app. Press the sensor action button once, and verify that the light first flashes in the correct configuration color, and subsequently flashes green to indicate that the network state is ok.
After the sensor has been connected to the network, it can be linked with a zone in the Waved application. In the sensorโs corresponding row, click the zone dropdown and select the zone to link the sensor with. Remember to save after doing this. To identify which physical sensor is represented by each row in the sensor list, press the blink button in the corresponding row. The sensor will start blinking, and can easily be identified. The sensor will stop blinking after some time, but the blinking can also be stopped by pressing the โstop blinkโ button.
To summarise, setting up sensors consists of a couple of simple steps. Firstly, the Zigbee network must be opened from the installation view in the Waved application. Secondly, the sensor must be turned on and configured correctly. Thirdly, double tap the action button to connect the sensor. And finally, link the sensor to the zone it will be placed in, and press save.
